The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fully restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a 96-hour technical outage linked to hosting platform challenges. The portal is now operational.
Following the restoration, JAMB directed all tertiary institutions to accelerate their screening exercises to make up for lost time. Candidates who recently received their 2026 NECO SSCE results were also advised to upload and verify them on the portal immediately to ensure their profiles are updated for institutional review.
Approved 2026/2027 Admission Deadlines
JAMB has set strict timelines for institutions to conclude admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session:
Public Universities: October 31, 2026
Private Universities: November 30, 2026
Other Tertiary Institutions (Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education): December 31, 2026
How to Check Your Status on JAMB CAPS
Candidates can check their admission status and accept or reject offers by following these steps:
1. Go to the official JAMB e-Facility Portal.
2. Log in using the email address and password created during your UTME registration.
3. Switch your mobile browser to "Desktop Site" mode if you are using a smartphone.
4. Click on "Check Admission Status" or navigate to the CAPS section.
5. Select 2026 as your examination year and input your JAMB registration number.
6. Click on "Access my CAPS" to see your admission profile.
JAMB urged candidates and institutions to act promptly as admissions processing resumes fully on the restored portal.
